Ok, so it's been a while, but the UNIX is coming along fairly well. Learning on the job is tricky but rewarding when things start to fall into place. So far I've dabbled in authority changes with some success, but I am finding the report running tricky. The report running is, strictly speaking, something that has just been landed on me; I'm trying not to let it worry me, but it does get me down.
I feel very strongly that I've entered a male domain. Notes and documentation are short and to the point, but require an understanding of other software, other processes, other people's minds in short. Something I'm determined to do is produce a set of training materials to stand along side the documentation. These packs will outline the task, step by step, and provide some information about what the operator is actually doing and will achieve by the end of it. There may even be pictures!
